AEDP Therapy
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy
Grounded in Emotion
AEDP is grounded in the understanding that emotions are inherently purposeful and have the power to transform. Emotions play a central role in the healing process.
Your Inherent Healing Capacity
AEDP orients to research in neuroplasticity, which presupposes that we possess extraordinary innate capacities for healing trauma and positively transforming our lives. These capacities can lie dormant, but once awakened in the context of a trusting and caring relationship, can offer us resilience, resources, and a renewed sense of vitality.

The Attachment Relationship
In AEDP sessions, the relationship between therapist and client forms a powerful and safe container for the tending of difficult emotions and topics. It is oriented toward what Dr. Fosha describes as "undoing aloneness." It is in the presence of a caring other that we can explore what may have felt daunting to look at on our own.
The Mind-Body Connection
AEDP brings the body into the session. Trauma studies inform us that there are physiological elements involved in our suffering. As the site of our feelings—our felt experience— the body is an important ally in coming to sort through and articulate what we are experiencing. It can be highly beneficial to cultivate a relationship with our somatic experience and to witness ourselves holistically—mind, body, spirit, and soul.
